Bartender Training Courses

SIP Bartending 101

Course Rate: R6 500 p/p
Qualification: Bartender
Requirements: Basic English Literacy skills
Course breakdown:

  • 50% Theory
  • 50% Practical

Course duration: Monday – Friday (10am -5pm)

  • Epic skills and cocktail knowledge

Course pass rate

  • Theory test completed with a minimum of 80% achieved.
  • Practical test completed with a minimum of 90% achieved.

Staff Rates Post Training:

  • Cocktail Bartender R100/H
  • Standard Bartender R80/H

Social Responsibility

  • For every 5 paying students we sign up, we give one seat away to an underprivileged candidate and we assist them in finding work.

Owen O’Reilly – Director of SIP Exclusive

Owen formally spearheaded the Barcode Academy in Cape Town and before that the Bartender Workshop academy in both Cape Town and Mauritius. Owen has over a decade of experience and brings a flamboyant mixology style backed by extensive product knowledge to the table. He has traveled through Africa and Mauritius, training and consulting for over 25 venues and hotels and has trained well over 5000 students.

Owen has developed drinks for numerous brands and liquor companies including Klipdrift, Van Ryn’s, Skyy vodka, SAB etc. He has entered and placed numerous mixology and flair competitions in SA including Bacardi legacy, Tahona society and the Butlers bartending challenge, he is currently ranked one of SA’s top bartenders.

An avid student of the trade, Owen has completed various category short courses including The Advanced Van Ryn’s Academy (brandy), The Tahona Society (tequila) and The Bacardi Bar Academy (rum).
